Handmade Halo Mojo-vator!

I know my blogging has been lacking lately due to being so busy, but i did want to blog about this layout i did for the Handmade Halo Sketch Mojo-vator! The sketch was so cool that i couldn’t wait to get it done, and the layout came together so easily! I have wanted to scrap this pic and the story that goes with it for some time, but couldn’t work out what i wanted to do with it, so i am thrilled i was able to use it for this ‘mojo-vator’!!

Things have been totally crazy crazy busy here lately as you would imagine with a new bub and the oldest starting school!! I can't believe Emma is almost 7wks already!! She really isn't a baby anymore! She is super cute tho, and although she is more of a night owl than me, and now keeps me up til 2 or 3 in the morning, i still love her to bits and couldn't imagine our family without her!! She has started smiling at everybody as soon as you talk to her, and she even giggled at me last night. She is also cooing and trying to talk back!! Soooo cute!! Here is a picture i managed to snap the other day of her....

Brodie will be 3 next month!! I can't believe it!! He is soo grown up, and has the best manners i have ever heard on a little boy! He gets complimented on them all the time from strangers! He is also coming out with some really funny phrases that i want to scrap so we don't forget them!! He is also doing really well with toilet training! We have been a bit lax with it while i was preggas but now we are into some type of routine, i have had him in jocks every day with no accidents!! I still do nappies at night tho, cos he still wakes up wet. I had to shave Brodie's head last week, as Pa has lost all his hair due to chemo and Bj wanted his cut like Pa's!! I couldn't believe i was doing it, and didn't want to, but he wanted it for the right reasons, so i went along with it, and i think he looks good....

Jorja has spent her first term at school. She is doing really well and has heaps of friends - well you would when the school only has 44 kids!! lol!! Even the upper primary kids play with her!! lol!! She is learning heaps at school and i can't believe how well she is reading already! I don't know much about the reading program, but she has gone up a level already! She also lost her first tooth yesterday!! It has been loose for weeks, with another pushing up from underneath, and yesty it finally fell out, so the tooth fairy had to find her at Nanny's house last night!! lol!! Jorja is a very helpful little mummy too!! lol!!

On a crafty note, i have been making some new goodies for the next CM, as i am able to sit and do them while feeding and cuddling Emma, but haven't done much scrapping at all! I have only scrapped my example layouts, and although i have started a few other layouts, i really haven't finished many!! I have had no mojo to scrap, but my mojo has been creeping back in this week, so hopefully i get some time to use it! My mojo returned when Bj was 6wks old too, so hopefully it will stay now. I have been dreaming about layouts, and am itching to get back into it, but i have something stopping me..... yep, a shame pic!! I have started cleaning this up, and i can actually get into all the shelves now, but hopefully i will get it finished this week and can get stuck into the cc challenges properly!! I have been scrapping on the lounge room floor cos i couldn't get to the desk!! lol!!

A new baby, school and a facelift!

I know i am a super bad blogger, but that has been due to my total lack of mojo for the last few months.

Mojo that was stolen by this little cutie...

Emma Annie arrived 10 days late, on Thursday 25/8/11 at 4.14pm,

weighing 8lb 11oz (3950g) and measuring 51cm!

She made us wait a long time, but it was totally worth it!

Emma is the fifth and final member of our family!

Here is Emma's very proud big sister Jorja and brother Brodie only an hour after she was born!

They had to wait ALL day for this moment, which for a 5 and 2.5yr old is like waiting a life time! lol!

We spent a few days in hospital until all the screaming baby's drove me crazy, lol, then it was home to settle into the craziness of a 3 child household, with the eldest in her first few weeks of school! The school part has been the hardest so far, doing the late night feeds, then having to be up in the morning to make sure Jorja is ready for school, then making the 10km trek to get her there on time! We have raced the bell many mornings, but the last few days when Matt has been back at work, i have actually managed to get her to school early, so whats that tell you!!?? lol!!

Here she is, already for her first day of school - 25/07/11

You have probably also noticed that i have given my blog a facelift! I had to change my header to included our newest addition, so decided to make some changes while i was here! I have been very poorly trying to manage two blogs, the other being for my handmade embellishments that i sell as Burdy's Handmade Embellishments, so have decided to combine the two to try make it easier. I have added a new page tab at the top of this page and will be loading all my embellies there over the next week or so, then deleting the other blog. As my mojo returns i will hopefully get better at updating this blog too!! lol!

Our Baby Girl is 5!!! OMG!!

Yep, that's right, our baby girl turned 5 today!! How old…

She was up nice and early and desperate for her pressies so out they came….

a school bag for when she starts school next week!! Dad was looking for the rest of the pressies but i had hidden them in the school bag!! lol!!

A ‘Spot’ book!! She has been totally obsessed by these lately! Every time we enter Kmart, we have to stop and read these books for at least 10mins so i knew it would be a winner!!

A new Wii game (is very hard to get the hang of tho, so will need to practice some more!)

And finally a ‘My Little Pony’ that she has known about for the past week cos we bought her little friend the same one, but i wouldn’t let her have hers!! lol!!

We had family dropping in ALL day, from lunch til well after bed time! Lunch was fish and chips with Nan and Pa. Afternoon tea was party time with this cool ‘Shaun the Sheep’ made by Nanny with help from Jorja and Brodie to decorate it!! He was covered in huge marshmallows and licorice!! Very clever!!

Followed by a few games on the Wii between Jorja and he ‘boyfriend’ Scott!! They were boxing each other in this pic……

All this fun was followed by homemade pizzas for tea for anybody who was left and still hungry!! Wow, just did a quick add up and we had almost 20 people drop in at some stage during the day!! Little miss is a little popular i think!!

Anyway, she had a fantastic day, but was well and truly ready for bed when her head finally hit the pillow at 9.00 tonight!!

36 Weeks!!

Wow, i have been super slack, lol, Have had very little mojo to scrap and have been sooo busy moving into our new home and getting settled in! Also with the impending birth of our 3rd and final bub, i haven’t really felt like doing anything!

Here is a pic of me at 36 weeks! Only 4 weeks left til D-Day!! Ekkkk!! Am i prepared for this? To go back to the night feeds and little nappies and extra washing and, and, and….. lol!! I’m sure once this little one is here and in my arms, i will forget about all the doubts and just take it in my stride. Its just that it is coming sooo quickly now, and instead of living 5mins from the hospital, i now live 30mins, so i am going to have to be super organised!

Gotta love that view out my front windows!! I get to wake up to this EVERY day!!

AWOL!!

LMAO, this is my 100th post and i am telling you all that i am going to be AWOL for a while!! I know i'm not a real frequent blogger, but this time i really do have a good excuse!! lol! Next week we will be moving! I am in the process of packing everything up, while at the same time, cleaning, painting and carpeting the house we are moving into! It has been a very busy past few weeks for me, and i can't wait til we are in there and don't HAVE to do anything, cos this pregnant mumma really does need to be able to relax and REST! Those two words have not been in my vocabulary for the past few months! :( I'm 27 wks pregnant and still haven't found time to book myself into to hospital! Woops!! Better do that as high priority after we move!! lol! They like you to book in at 16wks here!! hehe!! Anyway, my net will be disconnected next week and i'm not sure when i will be back online, but hopefully it won't be too long, and if it is, then hopefully i will get a chance to open the numerous boxes i have marked as 'SCRAPPING' and will be able to get some stuff done without the distraction of the net!! lol!! So until i get back here again, happy scrapping and i hope it won't be too long before i can update my blog again with the many pictures i have been taking lately!! :)

since i have shared anything here, but i have been extremely busy!! I will start by sharing the scrapping, or lack there of that i have managed in the last couple of months….

My mojo has been stolen by………..

Yep, that’s right, i am currently 10 wks pregnant!! Woohoo!! So excited!! I am due on August 15th, which i think (well i hope) will come around very fast this year!! This little bundle of joy will be our 3rd and final bub!!

I love being pregnant, but they ALWAYS steal my mojo! I have been attempting to scrap but so far have nothing to show! Fingers crossed i can get something pulled together in the next few days for the Top 50 cc!!

Holiday Fun!!

Jorja has been so bored since Kindy and Swimming ended for the year, so we have had to invent some fun!!

This is the car seat ‘car’! Fully equipped with steering wheel and seatbelts!! lol!! They have hours of fun playing in Jorja’s car seat!! lol!!

We have also been creating this cubby house in the lounge room, using the dining chairs and my doona!! It works well and they play in it for quite a while before Brodie gets bored and pulls it down! lol!

If you hang out this end you can still watch ABC Kids!! lol!

And it even comes with a doormat!! lol!

We have also spent today making Gingerbread men, women, cars, dogs and reindeers (thanks for that idea Charm! ) Jorja kept stealing the mixture and ended up completely covered in flour after a flour fight with Matt’s cousin Cameron who was helping us out (he is a baker, lol!).

The kids had a ball decorating the cookies, and eating all the lollies!

The end result is LOTS of cookies!! They all look so sweet and sickening!! lol!! I think these will be eaten in moderation!!

That's all for now, i haven’t done any scrapping!

My little sis got married….

on Saturday 11th Dec!! Instead of having bridesmaids and groomsmen, they decided to have all the nieces and nephews in the wedding, which included Jorja and Brodie, my older sisters kids, Travis and Chelsea, and a boy and girl from the grooms side. All the kids wore matching outfits, supplied by Cathy and Anthony, and they all did an amazing job!!

Here’s my dad walking Cathy down the aisle (thru the park! lol!) The rain wasn’t so nice for the day, so umbrellas were required for a big part of the ceremony! How gorgeous is Cathy’s dress!! She bought it off eBay, then made some alterations to get it looking like this! She looked beautiful!!

I have more photos on my other computer, including some of my little family together, so if i think of it, i will load some of them here as well!!

The newest member to our household is..

this little guy! He is a rescued, baby tawny frog mouthed owl! We had a call last week asking if we could take him in, and with Matt being such a huge bird nerd, he didn’t even hesitate to say yes, so he is now our newest baby! We have called him ‘Hoot’ (well Jorja called him Hoot after the ABC kids show, Giggle and Hoot! lol!) and he is doing really well! He is so soft and fluffy and is quite happy to sit on our hands and have a pat! He was found in somebodies backyard in Naracoorte, where he must have fallen out of his nest. We think he is about a month old now! The first photo was taken the day we got him, and the second was taken a few nights ago when i was feeding him! Like all nocturnal animals, he is much more alert and lively at night, and eats a whole lot more then!

My little man is 2!! :(

Wow, the last 2 years have sure flown by!! I can not believe my little man, Brodie John, is now 2!! He turned 2 on Nov 26th 2010! Here are some photos (or lots, lol) from his big day…

We went out for tea at the Tantanoola Tiger Hotel with all our families, and because Bj hadn’t had a sleep during the day, he was so tired by the end of the night and ended up climbing into his pram and almost falling asleep before we could get everything packed up and loaded into the car!

And one of Jorja posing at the end of the night cos she looked too cute not to get a piccie!! She was so tired too, that she didn’t want her pic taken, but i bribed her for this one, and i think i turned out ok!!

Dec monthly ch..

We all know how busy December is for everybody, so i have made my Dec monthly ch at Top 50 very simple!

My challenge is for you all to create a layout, using this pagemaps sketch..

You can scrap this any way you want, as long as the bones of the sketch are visible.

I have nearly finished all the monthly chs at Top 50 too!! I just have the ‘We dare you’ ch to finish off before the deadline at midnight tonight!!

Challenge 1, by Anthea, was to use stamping as the main feature to the layout, and also to include the word ‘love’! This is what i came up with..I have used a handmade chippie button as well as some of Becci’s gorgeous crochet flowers!

And a close up. I have stamped with white ink, then two shades of pink….

Challenge 2 was Sue’s Inspiration ch! We had to create a layout inspired by this cool cake pic..

and it also needed layering, so this is what i did..

Challenge 3 was mine, but i think i forgot to put it here earlier in the month! lol! My ch was to scraplift this gorgeous layout by Marelize!

They also needed to include at least 3 elements from the above layout. Here is my lift..

Stuck?! Sketches!

I finally got time to play with one of the Stuck Sketches!! Woohoo!! I really liked the Nov 15th sketch, and have been hanging to scrap this photo of Bj, so i put the two together and came up with……

CC Layouts..

I managed to get all but one of the Top 50 cc layouts completed this month!!

The opening night mini challenge was set by our Guest DT, Linda, who challenged everybody to create a card or layout (smaller than 12x12), using the word ‘Life’ and also to include ric-rac, bling/glitter, and at least 1 button.

This is what i come up with..

Challenge 1 was also set by Linda, and was to create a layout using a quote by Mother Teresa,and to also include an embellishment cluster, at lease one flower and ribbon or lace…

Challenge 2 was mine, as seen in a previous post!!

I was so annoyed that i didn’t get a chance to get ch 3, set by Anthea, done! I had the photo and the papers ready, but just ran out of time!

Challenge 4, set by Sue, was to create a layout about ‘a day in the life’ of somebody, and also to include 2 or more photos, inking and chipboard other than alphas. Here is my entry..

The 2nd main cc challenge is now up at Top50 and it is MINE!! :) I have done something a little different this month, with the theme being 'Life As We Know It', i decided my challenge would be all about recycling! :) You can see the challenge details here, along with the materials list for my layout, which is made entirely from recycled materials! I even dyed my op shop doiley with BEETROOT juice!! lol! :) I hope you will give this challenge a go, it was so much fun!! :)

SBT50 Monthlies

I have also had time to complete some of the Top50 monthly challenges too!! Yippee!! :) Considering what has been going on, i have managed quite a bit for the month, even with limited supplies as a lot of my stuff got packed! :)

So first up i have my example layout for my challenge this month (there is still time to give it a go too! :) ). My challenge this month is a minimalitst/white space style layout, including 2 photos the same, stamping and buttons!!

This next one is for Sue's scraplift challenge. We had to lift a layout by Treens, and include Kraft cardstock, smeared paint and a quote. I flipped Treens layout and used it like a sketch. I chose to keep the layout fairly simple cos the more i added, it just didn't look right, and i liked it plain! :)

This last one is for the dare challenge. The criteria was to use a purple and green colour theme, black and white photo, leaves and dry embossing! Love how this one came together! :)

Something Scrappy!!

I have been so busy preparing our house for sale, that i wasn't certain if i would manage to get all the Top50 Music and Lyrics cc chs done this month, but guess what, i uploaded them ALL today!! Woohoo!! They are all quick, simple layouts, but i like them!! :)

This first card was for the cc opening night mini ch. The challenge was to create a card or mini layout (smaller than 12x12) containing individual music notes. :) Being a mini challenge, this actually had a shorter time frame to the rest of the challenges, and i did get it completed and loaded on time, i have just been slack loading it to here! :)

This one is for ch 1 which was set by our guest DT Treens. The criteria was to use a monochromatic colour scheme, music paper, and pearls. I have had this photo of Jorja listening to my MP3 player for ages, as well as the phone bling, but have never scrapped it cos it is a little blurring, having been taken on my mobile phone, but i am so glad i have finally had the kick up the butt i needed to use it all!! :) Thanks Treens! :)

Challenge 2, set by Anthea, was all about those misheard song lyrics! :) Well i went a little tongue in cheek for this one, lol! When ever i hear the song 'Hey Mickey', i always sing it 'Hey Vicki', so i decided to use that for this challenge! :) The other criteria was to use glitter or bling, stiching, and felt or fabric.

Challenge 3, set by Sue, saw us using lyrics from the song "I Wanna Rock n Roll All Night" by KISS. We also needed to include at least 2 photos, a ticket and at least one piece of altered chipboard. This layout came together really fast for me, and i love the fun, randomness of it! :)

Exciting News and a CRAZY weekend!! :)

Ok.. i know.. i am a VERY bad blogger, but i am going to attempt to get it back up to date today cos my house is looking very neat and tidy and i don't have a whole lot to do today! :) There is lots to update, so i may back date a few posts. Be sure to read back thru a few posts to check that you haven't missed anything! :)

Now.. to my exciting news...last thursday we bought a new home!! We saw it in the paper the previous friday, looked thru it a few times during the week, then put in an offer thursday morning. The vendor accepted our offer thursday night!! Woohoo how exciting!! Although it hasn't really sunk in yet cos the weekend was so CRAZY!!

So, the new house is 10km's from town and is on 2 acres of land, which will be perfect for the kiddies and for Matt to have his birds!! Its a 4 bedroom house, with a huge kitchen, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, an office etc!! It is LARGE!! :) Its not a new house by any means, but it is perfectly located and we can move straight in and not have to do anything to it!! The only thing now is, that we need to sell our house in town to finance the new place!! :) Which is why the weekend was so crazy!! I came down with a disgusting sinus infection thingy on friday, but despite that i had to spend the entire weekend packing my life into boxes and transporting it all to Treena's huge shed (thanks again Treens!! :) )! We were told we needed to de-clutter our house and remove all personal things like photos, so my house is now looking VERY bare!! :( It also echos now that we don't have so much stuff here! :( Our house went on the market Monday and will be in the paper on Friday, so fingers crossed it sells quickly for us!! :) On a happier note, tho, the vendor of the new house isn't in any hurry to leave his house cos he has LOTS of stuff to clean up around the yard, so he isn't concerned about how long it takes us to sell, he is just happy to have his place under contract!! :)

So after such a BIG weekend and feeling crap the entire time, i am taking a day off today, and just veging and do what ever i like!! I do still need to wash windows and any marks on the walls, but i am taking a break today and will get back into it tomorrow!! :)

I did do a little scrapping last night, but it is secret squirral stuff and i haven't finished it yet, so you will have to wait to see it!! :)

Don't you just hate that song!! lol!! Well i was taking photos of Jorja's birthday presents after her birthday in July, and as soon as i saw this one, that stupid song got stuck in my head...

I knew this would be perfect for the Top50 cc theme of Music and Lyrics, so i used it for my challenge.

I have challenged everybody to use the lyrics from an annoying song, as well as to include bright colours, layering with foam tape, and beads!

Here's what i did with it! :)

I have been scrapping like a crazy woman today, taking party in the My2Angels Birthday Scrapping Relay!! We were each put into groups of 5, and each person in the group had a different birthday element that they had to scrap during the week! My day was today and i had to scrap a layout containing a birthday invitation.. what the??... well that was my first reaction, but i did manage to come up with something!! :-)

So... here is my layout, its a crappy night time pic, but you get the picture!! :-) I will take a better one when i get a chance!! :-)

I have printed an invitation onto my cardstock and then scrapped my layout over top,

as the story is actually about the aftermath of the party!! :)

Our week has been so busy this week!! Jorja turned 4 and started Kindy!! :-( My baby girl is growing up so fast!! :-( We had a family lunch for her on Sunday, then her friends came around for a play in the arvo!

Nanny made her this cool 'Shrek Swamp' cake, which she loved, and which tasted so yummy!! :-) Unfortunately we didn't get any really good pics of the cake! :-(

Monday July 19 2010 my baby girl turns 4!!

We gave her this cool 'Happy Birthday' Barbie and car, and Aunty Jayne gave her the 'Hottie' Ken doll.

Tuesday morning 20th July, the school holidays were finished, which meant swimming lessons began again. Brodie swims at 10am (i have to go in with him), then Jorja swims at 10.30am! This is the normal routine, but this term, she is also at Kindy four afternoons a week, but this week they started on Tuesday, so we had to rush from swimming, grab some lunch, then get to kindy for her first day at 'Big Girls' Kindy!!

She absolutely loves it at Kindy and is telling me at 9am each morning that i need to hurry up and get ready so she can go to Kindy!! lol!! :-) Bj isn't so keen on her going to kindy though, and gets a little upset dropping her off, but loves it at pick up time!! :-)

So.. Happy Birthday my BIG baby girl!! We love you!! :-)

I had to give it a go, and i love how it turned out, as does hubby, which is totally unusual!! lol! I have been scrapping, but the weather hasn't been so good for taking photos, however i do have something to share!! :-)

This is my layout for the July monthly ch, Ch 1: Anthea's colour challenge. The criteria was to use black,
white and only 1 other colour and also include a long title, bling,at least one flourish and a non-solid (had to have something breaking it) border on the layout. I really struggled with this, but once i got started it fell together quite easily!!

Sue's style challenge at Top 50 this month was to have a go at Girly Grunge!! I have been loving pulling out
the old paints lately, and getting messy, so this challenge, although taking me out of my comfort zone, was so much fun! I also had to include a non-scrapping item and a song title somewhere on the layout. It took me ages to find a song title to match this layout, as i knew exactly what i wanted it to be about, but needed to find a title to fit. I am really happy with how it came out though!! :)

I can't wait!! I always get so excited at cyber crop time! Opening night (Monday 12th at 8pm SA) is so much fun! Is growing up way too fast!! :( He is 18mths already and is into absolutely everything!! Yesterday i let the kids clean the back glass door for me, so now twice today i have found him out there with the windex cleaning the door with his hand!! lol!! He looks so cute and thinks he is doing such a great job!! :) Unfortunately i didn't get a photo, but i am sure there will be other opportunities!!

He is also loving music! When ever he hears it he starts bopping away, he has all the moves, right down to the good old breakdancing!! lmao!! Don't know where he gets his moves from daddy, but he looks sooo cute!! Tonight he wanted me to dance with him, and we managed to get this super cute pic as i was spinning him around:

I managed to get heaps of challenges done this month, so here are a few more to share...in no particular order...

My entry for the 123 Challenge Blog.. the criteria was dominate white in colour, the word new, and paint smears. This was actually my second attempt at this challenge, as i got a little carried away with the paint on the first attempt and my layout was no longer white!! lol!! Oops!! :) You will see it in the near future though, as i have decided to hold on to it for a Top 50 challenge somewhere done the track!! :)

Here are my last two entries for the Top 50 June monthly challenges!

Challenge 1 by Sue was a technique challenge. The technique we had to include was the use of transparencies. I don't use these often, as i have trouble keeping the images on them. I use staz-on, but i normally wobble a bit and stuff up the image! I think i did all right with this one though. The other criterias were to use the colour green, the word happy, and at least 2 bows. This is what i came up with. I meant to journal on it, but forgot, then ran out of time. The photo was taken by my lovely forum friend Kathie, when we took a trip to Warrnambool to meet her!! :)

Challenge 2 was by Bec our GDT for June! Her challenge was a sketch challenge using the following sketch, and also using bright colours (i struggle with this when it is part of the criteria, lol, love it otherwise!! :) ), a one word title and foam dots.

This months OOTH ch was to create a layout using..

I like this challenge blog because the challenge is set by the members. Everybody nominates some criterias, then at the start of the month the criterias are pulled out of a hat!! :)

I was really liking how this layout was looking until i realised i needed MORE than 3 photos!! Looked really good with 3!! lol!! Oh and then i went and spilt the glimmermist on it! Oh well, it is done!! :)

A2Z Scraplets had a sketch challenge for June, designed by Liz Weber (check her out, her stuff is amazing!!). The sketch was absolutely gorgeous and looked so girly!

So of course i had to challenge myself to do a boy layout with it! lol! I love how this turned out and am loving using the heart shaped chippie buttons that Jorja and i made!! :)

This layout is my entry for Ch 1 of the June CC at Top 50. The challenge was to create a layout, including the following quote:

While also including meaningful journalling (not just the who, when, where) and flowers!!

My layout is about a beautiful friendship i have made with Sue on the forum! She is such a gorgeous girl and we have so much in common! I truely hope we will be friends for a very long time, and although we have never actually spoken/heard each others voices, we love to get ont he forum and chat the night away most nights!! lol! Its a wonder we get any scrapping done at all!! lol!! :) Love ya babe!! :)

Challenge 2 was set by Kathie and was also a lot of fun. The criteria was to use the following quote:

And to also include hand cutting, distressing and some (more than 1) butterflies and/or birds!

Opening Night CC Ch!!

I love it when i have some show and tell for you all. The sun was nice yesterday and showed its face for 5 minutes so i was able to run out and snap some photos of my layouts! :-)

This is my layout for the Top 50 cc opening night challenge. Because it was a mini challenge, we had a much shorter timeframe to complete it in (2 days!) The criteria for this challenge was to create something smaller than 12 x 12 with our own "wings" criteria. That is, something representing each of the letters in "wings". The criteria I used was:

W - White - cs, gel pen, cotton, string, buttons

I - Ink - black texta and white gel pen

N - Navy - Mesh, button, glimmermist

G - Glimmermist (navy)

S - sewing, staples, string

This is my final Top 50 monthly layout. It is for Judith's challenge which was to create a layout that contains a banner/pennant, chipboard (more than 1) and a multi alpha title!!

I went a little away from the norm with this one! The pics are of Jorja painting at playgroup at her kindy, and the 'banner' reminded me of the paintings hanging from the ceiling at the kindy!! :)

I have completed two of the May monthly challenges, Sue's challenge and the DARE challenge!!

Here is my layout for Sue's challenge which was to use a sketch by Pagemaps, as well as include some lace and a playing card. I love how this one turned out!! :)

And my dare ch layout. The criteria was to use ONLY 1 piece of CS and no pp, use buttons in at least 2 different colours, doodled or stamped border, and an embellishment cluster incl. diecut or journalling spot, as set for us by the forum members!! :)

I also got through all the Top 50 April monthly challenges as well. I have shown my example for ch 1 previously, but here are challenge 2 and 3, as well as the dare challenge where the members get to set the criteria!! :)

Challenge 2: Sue's challenge was to scrap a layout 8.5 x 11 inches (something a little different), use a blurry or imperfect photo, handwritten journalling and doodling. This is what i came up with:

Challenge 3: Anthea's Challenge was to use the word "sweet", use fabric, layering and spots! I decided to scrap my easter pics while it was all still fresh in my mind!! :)

Our April dare challenge, where the members get to set the criteria for the DT, end up with the following criteria:
1. Use lots of ribbon - Bec

2. No cardstock, use pps only - Janine
3. Use rubber stamps - Julie
4. Shaped layout - Joy

And this is what i came up with!! :) I love how this layout turned out!! :)

I don't know where April went. It seems i shut my eyes and it passed me by!! :-( We were so busy doing not a lot, that it just doesn't make sense, but i guess that is what happens when you have kids!! Dad has always told me that kids are excellent time wasters, and i am beginning to believe him!! Thanks Dad!! :-)

So i last blogged at the start of the Top 50 April cc, and i am pleased to announce that i did manage to get all the challenges completed!! :-) So here they are:

Challenge 1: Reflecting in the Post - create a card using reflection!! So.. i went with the mirror image!! lol!! Nice and easy!! :) I made this for my friend who had just had a baby girl!

Challenge 2: Mirror, Mirror... was set by guest DT Anthea. We had to use bling, distressing, buttons and a photo of someone in a mirror. Jorja has just started dressing herself, so this layout is about that! Thanks for the challenge Ant!! :)

Challenge 3: It was important to me.. this was the ch i set for the crop. The challenge was to create a layout about an important event in your life and to include at least 100 words of journalling. This was my example. All materials used on this layout are from Tracy at My2Angels! Thanks Tracy!! :-)

The journalling was hidden under the photos. The whole photo flap lifts to the right to reveal.....

Challenge 4: When your shining.. was set by Sue. The challenge was to create a layout using alfoil (yes, from the kitchen!), glitter, bling, and the word "shine"! Here is mine, i have used the alfoil in the lolipop flowers!! :-)

Challenge 5: Times gone by... was set by Kathie. For this one, we need a vintage style layout, ribbon and an embellie cluster! I wasn't sure where i was going with this one, but i love how it turned out!! :-)

Challenge 6: What about You? For this one we had to use a photo of ourselves, the title At (age), and 5 random facts about ourselves!! :-)

April Monthly Challenges

Challenge 1 belongs to me this month, and i have challenged everybody to let their kids loose with their cameras!! A scary thought i know, but if my 3yr old daughter can do it without too much trouble, then surely it isn't too difficult!! :) You can see the full challenge criteria in the forum. There are few forums that i drop by often to catch up on what is going on, and to have a go at their challenges if i get time. I always check out Bon's Scraps, and always try to squeeze in a layout or two, but normally run out of time, however at the end of March i managed to get one of the challenges done for their March CC. It was a scraplift challenge set by Charm, of a layout created by her Mum, Bronny. The layout really appealed to me, so i decided to give it a go. You can see the original in the forum, and here is my take on it:

Chantal's Challenge!

Chantal was the guest DT at Top50 for March and set us all a challenge to alter some dodgy pp and create a layout. She gave us a tutorial on how paint the dodgy papers which you can see in the forum. I painted my pp purple, then splashed some gold, pink and white paint over it. I then created this layout with it:

Ok, so i have been a little slack getting the last of my Top 50 March monthly layouts up here, so here they are....

Challenge 1 was to scraplift a layout by Sue, and to include a quote and at least two elements the same as Sue had used. I flipped the layout as it suited my photo better, and used heaps of the same elements as Sue did. Here is my lift:

Challenge 2 was set by Kathie and was a 5,4,3,2,1 challenge. It needed to include 5 pattened papers,

4 buttons, 3 cut outs, 2 word title, 1 photo, 1 piece of felt or subsitute & I sheet/piece of cs and also
needed to use one of the pp's as a photo corner, and have inking and distressing. Wow, that is heaps, but i managed to get it all in!! :)

We also dared the members to set a challenge for us. The criteria we ended up with was to use NO patterned paper, use staples, circles and tissue paper. This is what i came up with. I use white tissue paper and coated it in glimmermist! :)

The Scrapbooking Top 50 March '4 Seasons in 6 Days' cyber crop at is almost over!! Entries are due by midnight tonight!! :-) I have managed to squeeze in enough time to complete all the challenges, so here they are for your viewing!! :-)

Challenge 1: Sponsor's Challenge, was to create 2 handmade 'seasonal' embellishments to be used on later challenges during the crop. I chose to make a 3D sun and butterfly!

Here is a close up of the layering:

Challenge 2: Is it HOT in here? was a summer based challenge, using a colour pallette of blues, yellows and whites. It also had to include a white cs background, a sun embellishment and a handcut item (my handmade sun)!!

Challenge 3: Falling Leaves required us to use a colour pallette of autumn toned oranges and browns, and also to include a one word title, leaves and chipboard. I was having so much fun making my own embellies for this crop, that i decided to make the cute little cat in the bottom right corner. I spent ages googling images that would suit, and couldn't find anything, then my m.i.l. gave me a bag of new closes for my DD, and there was this goreous top with a little dog and cat on the front, so i just had to trace him off!! :-) Things we will do for perfection!! lol!! :-) The cat is actually layered but you can't see that very clearly in this pic!

Challenge 4: Got a Chill? was a winter based challenge, set by me!! :-) This is my example page for the challenge. The layout had to use a winter colour pallette of blues, purples and white. It had to have a definate winter theme, include a stamped title, include spots and stripes, and a snowflake!! :-)

Here is a close up of the gorgeous flowers i got to play with from My2Angels! The felt heart at the top of the photo in the above picture was also from My2Angels. It was white, but i sprayed it with blue glimmermist! Thanks Tracy!! :-)

Challenge 5: Chantal's EXTREME Spring Challenge had to use a colour pallette of red, pink, purple and green. It also needed to have a definate spring theme, a flower embellishment, 3 or more photos, embroidery thread (was not allowed to be stitched so made a hose out of it instead!), at least 3 eyelets, 3 buttons, use stamps (butterfly), bling and include a bug ont he layout!! Phew, that was a lot to include on one page!! :-)

Challenge 6: Seasons with reasons! was a criteria challenge. We were given 12 pictures to choose from at the start of the crop, and we needed to pick 4 pictures which would relate to different criterias that needed to be used. The gorgeous Anthea picked the pictures for me, as i already knew what the criterias were. My criterias ended up being to use an outdoor pic, distressing, 3 different sized flowers and hand-written journalling!! I'm really happy with how this one turned out, although this photo really doesn't do it justice as you can't see that all the pp is distressed, and the colours are all so much bright IRL then they are in this pic!! The pp used is Kaisercraft Allsorts and can be purchased at My2Angels.

Top 50 March Monthly Challenges!

March crept up on me this month, but i did manage to get everything organised in time. So with a new month, comes new challenges. You can find all the Top 50 march challenges here. I decided to make my challenge a little different this month, by challenging everybody to try something they have never tried before, then write instructions for how to do it, so we can all give it a try at some stage.

For my layout, i created a layout with a chipboard alpha background. Here is my layout:

I finished a few more layouts at the end of feb, so here they are:

Sue's Top 50 monthly challenge was to use hand cutting, hand stitching and pearls.

Kathie's Top 50 monthly challenge was to use distressing, ink, an altered photo and flowers.

I also completed Julie's surprise challenge at Top 50. Julie was our Guest DT in Feb, and set a blind scrap for everybody. Here is my take on Julie's instructions:

I had a go at another challenge from Aussie Girls Gone Scrapping. It was the jan cirlces challenge (time was extended to the end of Feb) where i had to use at least 3 circles, stars, and my own hand writing!! I am so stoked as i actually won a Scrapwares Chipboard pack for this layout!! :)

I completed this layout for the Out of the Hat February challenge. This layout had to include a butterfly, buttons and bows, and a four word title. I also won a voucher to D'lish Scraps for this layout! :)

I completed this layout for the sketch challenge at Scrapbook From Scratch. I love how this one turned out. Slightly different to the sketch, but my layouts have a habit of straying from the original!! :)

And finally i completed this layout for the sketch challenge at Bliss! Love how this one looks too!! :)

So.. i have changed my blog picture to show my two little monkeys enjoying their breakfast, so it was only apt to add this background with the monkeys swinging across it. I have also updated with all my Jan and up to date Feb layouts, so lets see how i go from here!! :-) I upgraded my blogger the other day, and it seems a lot easier to use now, so hopefully i won't put my blogging off because it is too time consuming anymore!! :-)

Ok.. it sure has been a long time, but there really has been a LOT going on, not only in my family life, but also at Top 50!!

The Feb 'Love Is All Around' CC at Top 50 is almost over!! We had totally awesome challenges this month, and i was able to complete them all really quickly!!

Challenge 1 is our sponsors challenge. This months sponsor was Shaz from Craft Candy!! Thanks Shaz!! So what was the challenge?? To make a valentines card of course!! :)

Here is my card. I kept it simple cos i knew it really wouldn't be appreciated if i didn't!

Challenge 2: It's The Little Things, was set by our Feb Guest DT, Julie. The challenge was to scrap about an everyday object that you love, but was not allowed to have any people in the photo. You weren't allowed to add any embellishments, and also had to ink the edges of the papers!! The chose to scrap about my expresso machine, as i really wasn't a coffee drinker when i asked for it for my birthday, but now i have it, i don't start my day with out a cappuccino, and will have 1 or 2 more through out the day!! :)

Challenge 3: Ten Things Challenge, was to scrap a layout including a 10 things i love list. The extra criteria was to use a white cardstock background, place something randomly on the page, and use an altered flower. I don't generally use flowers on my boy layouts, but i don't think this one really looks like a flower. I just used a large white bella flower, and painted blue random stripes on it. I had heaps of fun with the paint, painting the background for the photo and splashing it all around the page!!

I had so much funny doing Brodie's page that i decided to do one with the same design for Jorja!! :-)

Challenge 4: Love Song Challenge, was the challenge i set. Obviously, a love song needed to be used somewhere on the page, as well as 'white' space and distressing. Here is the example i did for the challenge.

Challenge 5: Love Hurts Challenge, was set by Sue. The challenge was to create a layout about a not so happy moment. The layout also had to include a diecut and leaves or a branch. I really love how this layout turned out!! :-)

Challenge 6: Love a Sketch Challenge, was set by Kathie. Kathie designed a sketch for us all to use, and like normal, mine ended up looking nothing like the original!! lol!! The extra criteria was to use something metal on the layout, as well as rub-ons. I used Sassfras Monstrosity pp for this challenge!! :-)

Feb Monthly Challenges at Top 50!

The Feb monthly challenges at Top 50 have a week left to run, so if you are looking for a challenge, why not check them out.

Challenge 1 was set by me. The challenge is to create a layout using a photo that speaks for itself. The layout is to include layering and doodling, but NO title or journalling!! Here is my example:

Challenge 2 has been set by Kathie. The challenge is to create a layout which includes distressing, flowers and altered photos. I have scrapped a layout for this challenges, but i'm not entirely happy with it yet, so you will have to wait to see it!! :)

Challenge 3 is Sue's challenge. This challenge is all about the hands. The layout must include hand cut pp elements, hand stitching and pearls! I have finished this one to the point of needing journalling, so i will also load it up when i have finally completed it!! :)

This month i have also scrapped a layout for the scrap blog site Aussie Girls Gone Scrappin. The challenge was set by the lovely Tracy from My2Angels. The challenge was to create a layout using the colour brown, and to include pearls, rhinestones and bows. This is the first time i have scrapped with brown, and i think i like it!! :)

LOL, it has once again bee a month since i have posted here, but what a month it has been!! The opportunity came my way to buy the Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia Forum, and it was too good of an opportunity to pass up, so i have been spending the last month learning the nuts and bolts of the forum/advertising/topsites and everything else that belongs to the site!! I never realised just how much was involved, but oh well, i will get my head around it all soon!! :) I officially took over on the 1st Dec, so that was pretty exciting!! Look out for some changes in the next few months cos i plan on making the site ROCK!!! LOL!! Tell all your friends, and bring them along to party!! :) LOL!!

In other news, i also scrapped heaps in November as well, but i will put all of those up here another day if i don't get too busy with the site!! We also have a blog at Top 50 which you can check out here, which i am also in charge of updating!! EEKKK, i can't keep my own up to date!! LOL!! I may have to delegate!! :)

I have not blogged for over a month!! Its not that i haven't done anything in the past month, i just keep forgetting to put it all up here!! :) Being on the DT at Top 50 means i am spending a lot of time planning cc's and monthly challenges, as well as scrapping them all!!

Now, to get you all up to date, i am going to upload all my scrapping from the end of August and all of sept, then i will endeaver to update this at least weekly!! I can't promise, but i will try!! :)

I have been picked to be one of the 3 Scrapbooking Top50 Design Team Members!!! I'm so excited!! I am taking on this position along side Sue and Susan. Two very talented scrappers!!
I am super stoked to be accepted for this 3 month position starting Sept 1, as i got a taste of it this month with the August cc, and i loved orgainsing it all!! I ca't wait to get my kit of goodies and see what i can create to hopefully inspire the other lovely ladies on the forum!! :)

Scrapbooking Top50 August CC

I am taking part in the Top50 August Zany Zodiac CC at the moment. It runs fro Fri 7th to Friday 14th August, but entries don't need to be uploaded til August 28th, so there is still plenty of time to join the fun. You ca find all the details here. I kind of highjacked the organising of this CC with another of the forum mods, Sue, and it has been great seeing everybody enjoying the challenges.

So far i have completed 2 of the challenges.

Challenge 1: 'Shining Bright' - For this layout, we had to use a sketch and all things glittery and shiny. These are pictures from Jorja's 3rd b'day last month showing her Lisa Simpson cake that Nanny Burdon made for her. Whenever we asked what she wanted for her b'day all she would say was a Lisa Simpson Cake!! lol she is too funny!! :)

Challenge 2: 'Star Crossed' - this one had to be embellished with stars!! I think i managed that!! lol!!

A new twist to the challenges this month was that if you made a card with the scraps from each challenge, you got a bonus point, so here is my card for challenge 2. I am yet to make my challenge 1 card!! :)

Tonight i hope to get to challenge 3, but i will see how i go. :)

Now to get up to date with August, i have so far completed 2 of the August monthly challenges at Scrapbooking Top 50. You can check the challenges out here.

I have finished challenge 3 which was a scraplift of a layout by the very talented Charm Koch. Mine doesn't look half as good as Charm,s but i have used dome of the elements that she did.

I have also completed challenge 4 which was a technique challenge. The technique was sewing, and i had to use two types of sewing, machie, hand or faux!! I love how this turned out and it has been pointed out to me that the spelling is wrong, but oh well, it will give the kids something to laugh at when they are older!! :)

I took part in a xmas card front swap and here are the four catd fronts that i made. I love my cuttlebug!! :) Everybodies cards looked great and now i have a nice little stash started for xmas!! :)

I am really really bad at updating my blog, so i am going to show all of my layouts and cards that i made for the Xmas in July cc here together, then i can try and get up to date with the August layouts!! :) Sorry!!
Challenge 1: Blind scrapped xmas card. (Sorry if i have already shown this!)

Challenge 2: We had criterias. I had to use a mask at least twice, use something see-thru, and have a layering effect with ribbon and flowers. I think thats all!! :)

Challenge 3: Had to use the word 'Giving'

Challenge 4: Was a scraplift of a layout by Ngaire Bartlam. I used the July kit for this one.

Challenge 5: Was to use a funny photo

Challenge 6: Was all about the edges.

Challenge 7: Was to make an OTP card box in xmas colours. I made ine look like a mail box (if you can't tell!!) :)

We the had a mystery challenge, where we had to use a photo that we had uploaded in a photo challenge.

And finally i took part in the Christmas Celebration Challenge. My criteria was to use 'Happiness Is' in my title, use 2009, have hand made flowers (cut with the cuttlebug) and swirl, and i think the last criteria was to have two pics!!

That was a whole lot of scrapping for July, but that wasn't all i did!! :) I will start a new post with the rest!! :)

Christmas in July and Blog Hopping

The Christmas in July cyber crop started at Scrapbooking Top 50 on Friday with a Party!! We had a game of Bingo (which i won!! Yippee), a mystery card challenge, a Quiz and a scavenger hunt (which is still on going)!!

The mystery challenge was organised by me, and the criteria i gave was to use, red and white scraps, ribbon and stamps. Here is my example:

There will also be a blog hop starting tomorrow and with all our very generous sponsors, it is bound to be lots of fun. We need to follow the clues thru all the blogs until we end up with a paragragh that actually makes sense. From my blog we need to hop over to our resident angels blog for the next clue!! :) Happy hunting!!

Now, onto the challenges, we already have 5 of the 7 challenges posted, and i have made a start on them. Challenge 1 was a blind card scrap. I was a bit naughty, and didn't obey the instructions fully, but i am really happy with what i have done. Here it is:

I am currently working on challenge 4, which is a scraplift. I am really happy with how it is coming together, and will post a pic as soon as i am finished.

I have also completed a pre-crop christmas celebration challenge, where we had our own criterias. I will post that pic as soon as i take it too!! :)

I also have a couple of other little projects i have been doing too, but they also need pics taken, so once again i will post them after i take the pics!! :)
